Case Study

Child Resource Connect (CRC) had a website that wasn’t working for them, plain and simple. Staff couldn’t figure out how to navigate it, the language was inaccessible — a major problem given that many of their users were non-native English speakers — and there was no clear throughline on what actions to take or how. When they reached out to Sunny Side Creative, we were more than delighted to help.
Our first priority: make the user journey clear. If they were a child care provider, they should be clear on where to go. The same applied to caregivers and family members. We wanted users to immediately see themselves represented and reflected on the new website.
Next: adapt the language so it meets the visitor where they are. It should be welcoming, accessible to bilingual speakers, and provide clear directions on how and where to get help. Rather than feel stuffy and repetitive, we wanted the copy to feel engaging and fresh to reflect the energy and enthusiasm of the CRC staff.
With those two priorities guiding the way, we could then shift to thinking about design. We had so much fun playing with the joyful colors of the palette and incorporating the logo mark as a design detail throughout the website.
Now, the new website feels like a fresh breath of air for staff and users alike.
