Baltimore Healthy Start’s mission has always been critical: reducing infant mortality and empowering women and families with the resources they need to thrive. As we approached the end of the 2024 calendar year, we had an opportunity to think creatively about how we could garner fiscal support for the organization.

We decided to try something new.

Rather than make it a straight out appeal, we focused on the organization’s impact. We used data to tell the story of Baltimore Healthy Start and added a clear call-to-action. Shifting to this format allowed us to demonstrate how much the organization can do when given the opportunity, reinforcing the message that every dollar counts.

From a design perspective, we sought to communicate warmth, hope, and connection. We also wanted it to connect visually to their recent annual report to really emphasize the importance of the organization’s work.

Through thoughtful design and messaging, we were able to bring visibility to the vital role Baltimore Healthy Start plays in improving maternal and child health outcomes across Maryland; all while supporting critical fundraising efforts
